Pink

So I noticed that I'm wearing all pink this morning.  Pink sweats, pink thermal, pink socks, and pink slippers.  I like the look, even though it's pajamas.  What does pink remind me of?  First of all, bubble gum.  Not sure why--I don't even necessarily like bubble gum.  I surely don't like bubble gum ice cream.

But I like pink.  It's soft and not firm.  It's pleasant and not sad.  It's easy and not hard.  It's comfortable and not scratchy.  It's feminine and not masculine.  (That last one is from society, but I accept it.)

Pink is not my very most favorite color, but I like it very much just the same.  Pink is a nice feeling to have.  Rosy cheeks, happy thoughts, flowy blouses, painted toenails.  Oh, I get it!  Pink somehow reminds me of Summer, and Summer is my favorite season!  I even like Pink's music.  There now, Have A Nice Pink Summer Day!!

The End of Thanksgiving Vacation

So, the end of Thanksgiving Vacation draws near.  Let's review:  2 visits with Grandson, Check; Federal Fraud Trial expert witness, Check; Son arrives by plane and leaves the same way, Check; WONDERFUL, peaceful, calm, pleasant Thanksgiving dinner with daughter, son, grandson, and son-in-law's family, Check; tiny bit of holiday shopping, Check; new cell phone (finally!), Check.  What wasn't completed:  oil change & tire check, laundry, vacuuming, doctor. But who cares?   Overall, an EXCELLENT week!  Wouldn't trade it for the world.  Thank you for this nice escape.

Another Try. . .

So I guess life happened hard in between my last post and this one.  Let's have another try at it.  I'll have to start slow because that's where I'm at right now.   But at least it's a start?  Good.

What I Love About Saturdays

What I love about Saturdays: Sleep in (woo! to 6:30am!) and go back to sleep, if necessary. Thinking and being quiet and just listening. Really feeling the weather for an extended time. Not bound by schedules. Catching up with people I've missed throughout the week. Reorganizing my space. Possible shopping of some sort, or not. Lingering coffee smell and flavor. Reading. Wearing comfortable clothes. Snuggling in blankets and staying warm. Being lazy or seeking adventure. Waiting for what comes next and not having to plan it.  Switching off from the hectic weekdays.

My Happy Place

My happy place is the beach.  I'm always transported by the sounds, smells, and sights standing at the edge of such awesome power.  Whether it's the waves lapping softly at the shore, or crashing down on the rocks with ferocity.  By the feel of the wet sand giving way beneath my feet, or the salt water misting in my nostrils.  By the community of dolphins traveling together or the solo pelicans diving for fish.  How about the surfers floating down their peaks or the laughter of the children erecting sand castles on the shore.  My body is weightless during these moments. . .

Thanks to Caren for asking.
